About

Mathilde Le Coutour is an exhibition and interior designer with a multi-disciplinary approach.

Portrait Mathilde Le Coutour

Working with cultural institutions and private clients, she delivers creative projects from exhibition design to interiors, environmental graphics to set design.

She studied interior design and furniture at the école Boulle in Paris, followed by a Master's degree in Design & Scenography at the ENS, Ecole Normale Supérieure in Cachan. Throughout her studies, she developed a keen eye for art and design, and a strong sense of curiosity.

No matter the scale of the project, her aim is to create consciously created, functional and beautiful designs that bring joy to the people who use them.

Ethos

At the core of my design process are people and the environment.

My designs aim at :

- improving the experience people have of a space in functional and aesthetics terms,

- presenting art, artefacts and personal stories in a meaningful and memorable way

- initiating a sense of awe

During the different phases of a project, my process involves :

- having a 'less is more' mindset to reduce waste

- prioritising natural and fully recyclable materials

- using existing elements where relevant

- planning the after life of a temporary design, for reuse, donating or recycling
